Abstract

7087. Mayolino, L. March 21. Tidal and wave energy, utilizing.-Apparatus for utilizing wave energy comprises a well 1, Fig. 1, formed in the shore, within which is a piston-like body 8 adapted to be forced up by the rise of water in the well occasioned by the waves. Duplicate ratchet-wheels 20, 21, Fig. 2, for operating the shaft 29 in opposite directions are arranged on the same side of and worked by the rack 10, Figs. 1 and 2. Air for operating separate motors is compressed in the cylinders 32. A valve 36 is fitted to put the apparatus out of action. The downward movement of the float is limited by the s.tops 9.
