Abstract
2911. Ward, J. A. W., and Walmisley, E. A. Feb. 4. Resistances.-Two switches b, c and a lampholder e are mounted on a base a and wired so that a lamp d or a group of lamps may be connected either directly to the mains, or in series with an auxiliary lamp or other resistance inserted in the holder e. The two switches may be replaced by a two-way switch. Auxiliary lamps of different candle-power may be used to vary the total illumination. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1193/86, [Class 39, Electric lamps &c.], and 1620/93.
