348,493. Indicator lamps for switchboards &c. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Bush House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Corbett, A. ; 314, Penn Avenue, Irwin, Pennsylvania. U.S.A.) Sept. 24, 1930, No. 28639. Convention date, Sept. 26, 1929. [Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv).] Mounting electric lamps in lanterns ; supporting.-A signal lamp for switchboard mounting comprises a tubular socket 7 carrying at one end a cup-shaped lamp cap 17 and at the other end a base member 13 provided with sockets 15 for lamps 16 which are supported within the cap 17. In the form shown, the pair of threaded tubular sleeves 8, 11, forming the socket 7, have flanges 9, 12 which engage the surfaces of the switchboard panel 5. The sleeve 11 may be reversed if the panel 5 is of considerably greater thickness. The base member 13 comprises a resistance element connected with the lamp bulbs, which are in parallel with one another and have separate switches. The switches may be in the form of relays or be otherwise automatically actuated, or they may be actuated manually. The lamp bulbs are of different colours and the cap 17 is of translucent or opalescent material.
