Abstract

1524. Twigg, W. W., and Loeb, C. N. Jan. 20. Razors, safety. The central shank is in two parts, the part e connected to the back-plate c being externally screwed and provided with two or more wire stays or spring props f fixed to or formed integral with the part e. The blade b is held against the back-plate with its edges parallel with the edges of the guard by the spring props f, pins p on the back-plate engaging holes in the blade and the guard a which is carried by the handle k, within which the other part h of the shank is rotatably held by a set-screw n and groove m. This part h is internally threaded and engages the shank e, and by rotating it the blade can be clamped between the guard and top plate. By slightly unscrewing the part h, adjustment of the blade with respect to the guard is obtained. In a modification, an hexagonal or other screwed tube or washer screws upon the part e and clamps the blade to the back-plate.
