Abstract

889. Metal Jointing Co., and Harden, T. Jan. 12. [Addition to 25,244/08.] Reamers.-In tools for machining pipe ends to form spigot-and-socket joints, the cutters for internal and external coning, instead of being mounted on a single mandrel, as described in the parent Specification, are mounted on separate mandrels, a pair being provided for each size of pipe. Each mandrel A has a round nose for insertion into the pipe, and at the other end has a shank whereby it can be driven. It is notched to form a seat for the cutter E. Fig. 1 shows the tool for cutting the spigot, and Fig. 2 that for the socket. Specification 20,326/96 is referred to.
