Abstract

30,295. Dellwik-Fleischer Wassergas Ges. Dec. 31, 1909, [Convention date]. Regenerators.-In a smelting or heating furnace employing water-gas, and furnished with a reversible regenerator, the flues of which are arranged so that air passing through previously heated flues may also be heated by conduction from neighbouring exhaust-gas flues, two main combustion chambers c, Fig. 1, are placed in axial alinement and gas nozzles a and air-inlet or exhaust-gas outlet ports b are provided at each end and at the middle, so that both combustion chambers may be used, or as shown in Fig. 5, one combustion chamber alone. The branch regenerator flues for air and exhaust gases are interdigitated as shown.
