Abstract

30,226. Budesheim, W., and Stinchcomb, J. D. Dec. 29. Block tyres. -An emergency tyre comprises segments A on which rubber treads D are secured by side wires N and flanges N<1>, N<2>, Fig. 5, by tee-treaded bolts S, or by bolts 40, Fig. 13, screwing into plates 39 arranged transversely over wires embedded as shown. The segments are connected end to 'end by pin-andslot devices, one joint having a screw-and-nut adjustment such as M, M<2>, Fig. 1. The base of each segment may be covered with a felt or like pad F, Fig. 5.
