Abstract

28,582. Schneebeli, H. Dec. 8. Two-stroke-cycle engines.-In engines which ignite by the heat of compression, exhaust gases are mixed first with combustible and subsequently with air. In the engine shown in the Figure, exhaust gases are discharged during a portion of the up - stroke through a valve a, after the closing of which liquid or gaseous fuel is admitted through a valve b. Air enters towards the end of the compression stroke through a valve c, the supply being continued during a portion of the working stroke, as desired. To vary the compression, combustion gases may be re-admitted through a valve d. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 11,220/05, 2365/06, and 15,425/08.
