Abstract

28,329. Hahn, P. Dec. 6. Drawings to Specification. Yarns, mercerizing. - In a process for mercerizing cotton skeins, they are stretched and maintained in a stretched condition until entirely immersed, and are then slackened throughout their length and allowed to shrink uniformly. The skeins are preferably moved through the lye by rotating the rollers during shrinking. After shrinking is completed, they are stretched either within the liquid or out of it, and then finished in the usual manner.
