Abstract

25,801. Baldwin, A. Nov. 7. Combined switching and distribution systems. -The current through a thermal switch and a relay is reduced by placing them in shunt with a resistance, the parallel circuits being in series with one or more incandescent lamps across the supply mains. The relay controls the circuit of a solenoid, which controls a valve in the manner described in Specification 4678/08, [Class 135, Valves &c.]. The thermal mercury switch T and relay 10 are placed in shunt with a resistance 5, and in series with one or more lamps 4 across the supply leads 1, 8. When the mercury in the switch T rises to complete the circuit of the relay 10, the armature 14 of the relay places the solenoid 16 across the supply leads 1, 8.
