Fan-light, and casement opening and closing apparatus. - Relates to fan-light or casement operating apparatus, of the type comprising a lever g having on one end a toothed segment engaged by a worm b operated by a pulley b<2> and cord c, and at the other end a pin engaging a slotted plate i on the fan-light &c. According to this invention, the base-plate a, on which the lever g and worm b, are mounted, is provided with countersunk screw-holes a' for attaching the plate a to the face of the frame A, as shown in Fig. 1, or with lugs a<2> having countersunk holes for attaching it to the right or left inside edge of the frame, as shown in Fig. 3. The operating end of the lever g is formed with an internally screwed head, which receives either end of a screwed pin h, so that the opener may be fitted to the right or left hand side of an inwardly or outwardly opening fan-light. The screwed pin h is provided with a central boss h<2> working in the slot i<1> of the plate i, which is gripped between a fixed collar h<1> and a spring washer k adjusted by a nut l. The worm band pulley b<2> are mounted on ball bearings e on the spindle b<1>, the bearings being adjusted by a cone f, which carries the cord guide-frame d and is locked by the nut n.
