15,823. Miller, A. July 10. Stays; pivot adjustments.-A stay for swinging windows comprises a spring-pressed bolt d adapted to engage holes c<2> of the plate C attached to the sliding stile. The holes c<2> may be elongated to allow for wear of the window pivot A. The bolt d may be held inoperative by turning it so that its shoulder rests on the projection e<1> of the bracket E. A projecting cap c of the plate C acts as a stop when the window is closed. In the case of a top sash, the bolt may be actuated by means of a cord f. The stay may be used in conjunction with the pivot described in Specification No. 18,313, A.D. 1906. In a modification, the pivot and plate 0 are formed in one.
