Steering.-Ailerons D, Fig. 1, are hinged to the tail C of a biplane or monoplane flying- machine, and are adapted to be adjusted simultaneously with or independently of the front elevator B. The hand-lever a carries a pinion c, Fig. 3, adapted to slide on a feather on the spindle b. The pinion c can thus be placed in gear with both pinions d, e to adjust the ailerons D and elevator B in opposite senses, or in gear with either of the pinions i, h to adjust the elevator or ailerons separately.
