Combined hand and foot driving-mechanism. -In driving-mechanism for cycles wherein the ordinary pedal - operated driving - chain is engaged by a toothed free-wheel driven by hand, the chain is kept up to the free-wheel b by a guide or the like k, and the free-wheel is operated by a cable m connected at one end to a spring l and at the other end by a lever n and cable q to a roller hand-lever s or its equivalent upon the handle-bar. Operation of the roller lever by one or both of the handles causes the free-wheel to'drive the chain, the return of the mechanism being effected by the spring. The free-wheel may be mounted between stays e extending from the down tube to the axle of the rear wheel; or a casting secured to the down tube may be used instead of the stays.
