Abstract

19,348. Galloways, Ltd., and Pilling, H. Aug. 17. U-tube superheaters.-In superheaters consisting of tubular headers connected by U-shaped tubes, the tubes are arranged in groups opposite openings in the headers closed by internal lids. The headers are connected by hoops and bolts, and are placed in a cast-iron tray with a detachable cover. Fig. 2 shows the arrangement of the tubes c, c<1> in the headers a, and the openings e for giving access to them. The tray h<1> on which the headers a lie is supported in the brickwork of the furnace and provided with a detachable cover i, Fig. 3. The internal lids f of the holes e are secured as shown in Fig. 3.
