Holders.-In portable breathing-apparatus for miners &c., the vulcanized rubber or like bag a is divided into two connected compartments by a partition b which has ribs b<1> on both sides to prevent the sides of the bag sticking together, and at the bottom is either perforated or cut away. An inhaling-valve f and an oxygen supply g are fitted to one compartment, and an exhaling-valve h and a relief valve i to the other. The bottom of the bag is packed with preferably fused stick caustic soda. A cooler may be placed between the mouth-piece k and the exhaling- valve h. In a modification, the oxygen supply @g opens into the inhaling-valve f.
