Abstract

16,927. Metall-Industrie Winter & Adler. July 24, 1909, [Convention date]. Razors, safety. The handle of a safety razor is formed of two levers which, when secured together, clamp the blade between a guard and a support. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the levers k, l are connected to a projection h on the support d by a hook j, and the shorter arms of the levers engage with guide-ridges on the guard f. The longer arms of the levers are secured together by a cap m, and, on pressing the arms together, the cap slips off, and a spring n opens the arms. In a modification, the shorter arms of the levers are rounded off to form pressure clamps, and formed as hooks which engage headed pins on the support. The blade is formed of two parts a, Fig. 4, secured in holders b hinged together along a line parallel to the cutting-edges, so that the blades can be held between the angularlyshaped guard and support.
