Cleaning by burning-off deposit.-The carbonaceous deposit on the walls of the combustion chambers and the exhaust pipes of internalcombustion engines is removed by burning it in a stream of oxygen. The engine is first warmed by running it, then a stream of oxygen flows through it from a pipe screwed into the ignitionplug socket, ignition being started by a piece of magnesium wire..
