Abstract

15,701. Allen, F. van. June 30. Hand diaphragm pumps.-Liquid soap is delivered in measured quantities by a special form of diaphragm pump. As shown in Fig. 1, the soap is supplied from the reservoir A into the space between the two diaphragms h, h<1>, and also fills the space M. On pressing the button J, the orifice j is closed by the diaphragm h<1>, and the enclosed liquid is expelled through the spring-controlled valve l, and out of the nozzle E. In a slightly modified form, the delivery valve is carried by the diaphragm itself, and seats upon the casing.
