Abstract

15,388. Thomas, J. G. P. June 27. Dynamos and motors combined for transmitting power. - In electro-mechanical powertransmission systems of the type described in Specification 25,386/07, [Class 35, Dynamoelectric generators &c.], using two series machines in series, unstable oscillations in the strengths of the fields during regulation are prevented by using an inductive resistance 5, Fig. 1, in shunt to the motor field 4. In other methods, a non-inductive resistance is placed (a) in series with the motor field, which is itself in shunt to the generator field, (b) in parallel with the motor field and in combination with a battery or capacity placed across the generator field.
