Abstract

Impact pulverizers; mills and apparatus.-In a centrifugal grinding-mill with a stationary grinding-surface 1, Fig. 1, and a revolving ball dish 3, the top side of the dish is formed of one, two, or more helical surfaces co-axial with the shaft 2, so that the balls are thrown upwards as well as outwards, and beating-wings 4 are secured to the shaft above the dish. The wings 4 are preferably provided with parts 6, Fig. 3, inclined to the shaft 2 in the same direction as the helical surfaces, and their lower parts are radial to the shaft. Air is blown into the space between the bottom side of the dish 2 and the spherical casing 1 to keep the space clear, and to carry the ground material through gratings 7 and sieves 8 into the collecting-chamber 9.
