Abstract

15,100. Fritsch, T. June 23. Mills and apparatus.-A disc C, mounted on a vertically-adjustable rotating shaft E, carries a slightly-coned grinding-ring A adapted to work with a corresponding ring B fixed to the casing. The grain or other material is fed into a cup K in the centre of the disc C; stones &c. are retained in the cup, while the material to be treated is thrown out by centrifugal force against the wall of the casing, and accumulating on the top of the ring B, runs down between the grinding-surfaces; should any heavy particles be thrown out of the cup they will rest on the ring B. If the feed is too heavy it piles itself upon the disc and becomes visible through the windows L. The disc C is made heavy at the rim, and it is formed with passages s through which air is blown by the wings t.
