[Addition to 10,704/10.] Plug cocks; leakage, preventing.-Relates to the valve for vacuum conduits described in the parent Specification, and consists in providing an evacuated chamber inside the plug or its casing to prevent leakage. As shown in Fig. 1, a groove i in the plug communicates with a lowvacuum conduit k, thus preventing leakage of the atmosphere into the high-vacuum conduits l, m. Fig. 2 shows a multiple-way cock in which the groove i communicates through a passage j with either of the vacuum conduits k, l according to the position of the cock. The stopper s is integral with the plug.
