Packing, substitutes for.-In dredging-apparatus of the kind described in Specification 15,263/09 means are provided for excluding sand from the cutter-shaft bearing. Two cone-shaped rings T<1>, T<2> are encircled by a spring collar T<3>, which forces the ring T<2> against the face T<4> of the bearing. The ring T<1> is secured to the bars d<1> of the cutter. Packing T<5> is inserted between the rings.
