Abstract

6595. Waterhouse, L. M. March 16. Electroliers; antivibration devices.-An electric lamp, lampholder, &c. is supported by a suspension cord 4 which does not carry the current, the conducting-leads 2 being carried through separate openings in the ceiling - rose and lamp - holder respectively, and hanging loos e and separate from the suspension cord. The ceiling-rose cover 1<d> is provided with a central hole notched at 1<g> for the leads and which may be screwed to receive the plug 1<f> supporting the cord 4. This may be fitted with an antivibration device comprising a spring 4<a>, the extension of which is limited by a cord 4<b> connected to its ends, but in a modification this is dispensed with. The leads pass through insulating-bushes 3<a> into the lamp-holder, which is secured by a plug 3<c> or other means to the cord 4. When a fitting with two separately-controlled lights is used, three conductors are employed arranged at angles of 120 degrees, the notches 1<g> and bushes 3<a> being arranged accordingly.
