Capsules, applying. - Dies 9, provided with screw - threads or projections to enter screwthreads on a bottle neck, are mounted on rods which are forced inwards by the contact of conical surfaces 11, 12, so as to mould a plain capsule 5 on to a screw-threaded bottle neck. A bottle 1 is provided with an indent 3 or a mark 2 so as to be placed in a particular position on a carrier 4. The bottle may be raised, or the capsuling-head depressed, to bring the dies into the operative position. A block 7 is provided with a spring 8, and the dies are kept drawn outwards until required by rubber springs 10.
