Abstract

4423. Dunlop Rim and Wheel Co., and Bowron, A. J. Feb. 22. Suspension spoke wheels. - Wire - spoke wheels, adapted to be mounted close to the vehicle, have two sets of spokes a, d connecting the ends of the hub to the corresponding edges of the rim, and two sets b, c connecting the ends of the hub to central parts of the rim. The inner sets of spokes a, b‹ are less inclined than the outer sets, the set a being nearly parallel to the plane of the wheel, so that the central plane of the rim is situated a considerable distance from the central plane of the hub. The spokes b are preferably stouter than the others. The inner end of the hub is of larger diameter than the outer.
