Abstract
1537. Pugh, J. V. Jan. 21. [Cognate Application 10,172/09.] Suspension-spoke wheels.- Wire-spoked wheels, specially applicable for motor-omnibuses and the like, have the rim connected to the hub by two sets of spokes B, C, which in the cases of driving or braking wheels take these stresses, and also by one or two sets of spokes A, A<1>, considerably inclined to the central plane of the wheel to give increased lateral stability. The arrangement is such that in the case of steering-wheels, the steering - pivot can be placed vertically over the tread. The rubber tyre may he carried by a separate metal rim; or as shown, the tyre may be vulcanized directly on the rim to which the spokes are secured.
