Driving-devices.-A sandpapering or wood or like polishing machine is constructed with a sandpapering-disk b mounted upon a shaft a and a bob d mounted upon a shaft c, the shaft c being driven from the shaft a through friction bevelgearing e, f. An axial reciprocating motion is imparted to the shaft c by a bell-crank lever k having a slot i engaged by a pin on a wormwheel h driven by a worm on the shaft a. The friction bevel f may be lifted out of contact with the bevel e by a handle m in order to put the bob d out of action.
