885. Storey, I. H. Jan. 13. Aerial machines without aerostats; planes, arrangement and construction of.-Fig. 3 shows an annular supporting-plane of the kind described in Specification 9635/09, the opening 21 being, however, eccentric so that the surface is gradually reduced from front to rear. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the opening 27 is not closed in at the rear. Machines with surfaces of the form described may be of the monoplane or biplane type. The surfaces may be hinged to the framework 3, 4 as described in the above-mentioned Specification to facilitate transport &c. Steering.-Elevating-planes 28, Fig. 6, are provided. Framework.-The central framework of the machine upon which the planes are mounted comprises vertical elliptical hoops 7, 8, 9, 10, connected by longitudinals 3, 4.
