Abstract

107. Turnham, W. Jan. 3. Clips, band.-A clip for connecting a tree to a supporting stake or wire consists of either one or two pieces of galvanized sheet metal formed with grooves in which bands of rubber are placed. Fig. 3 shows a clip consisting of a single strip B of metal with rubber bands C. It is clamped in position by bolts at the end and between the supporting-stake and the tree. The bolts may be loosened as the tree expands. Fig. 6 shows a clip comprising two strips of metal for use with two stakes. Fig. 9 shows a clip for use with supporting-wires.
