Monoazo dyes are obtained by combining the diazo compounds of 4-nitro-1-naphthylamine sulphonic acids with 2 - arylamino - 8 - naphthol - 6- sulphonic acids. The following components are specified :-4-nitro-1-naphthylamine-5- and -6-sulphonic acids ; phenyl-, o- and p-tolyl-, m- and pxylyl-, o- and p-anisidyl-, p-phenetidyl-, and o-carboxyphenyl-2-amino-8-naphthol-6-sulphonic acids. The products dye wool black shades. Specification 1397/09 is referred to.
