Monoazo dyes are obtained by combining the diazo compounds of aminoarylsulphonamides or derivatives thereof with pyrazolones or their homologues or substitution products ; when pyrazolones containing no sulphonic groups are used, the products are sulphonated. According to an example a product dyeing wool yellow shades is obtained by combining o-anisidine-p-sulphonanilide with 1-p-sulphophenyl - 3 - methyl - 5 - pyrazolone. The following components are also specined :- m-aminobenzenesulphonanilide, o - anisidine - p - sulphonamide, o-toluidiue p-sulphontoluidide, ochloraniline-p-sulphonxylidide, 1 - naphthylamine- 6-sulphonamide ; 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, 1-naphthyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, 1 - naphthyl-5- pyrazolone sulphonic acids, 3-methyl-5-pyrazolones, 5-pyrazolone carboxylic acids, sulphoarylpyrazolone carboxylic acids.
