Jib cranes. - An electrically-operated winch, driven by an electric motor geared to two circularly grooved drums, is applied to a crane having two jibs and a single wind. The electromotor c, Figs. 1 and 2, is connected directly by toothed gearing d to the grooved winding-drums a, b, around which the rope is wound in multiple coils. As applied to a double-jibbed crane, the rope from the winch drums a, b, Fig. 3, passes over the jibs q, r, so that one load is raised as the other is lowered. For heavy loads, the electromotor is geared to the drums by worm gearing.
