Check valves.--A multi-ported check valve comprises a pyramidal casing a having one or more tiers of ports c covered by spring-pressed flaps b turning on trunnions i in bearings h in the seat. When used as an escape valve for an hydraulic ram, the fluid enters at the apex and leaves at the base, the springs e being arranged to hold the valves open, until closed by the impetus of the fluid.
