Abstract
26,781. Paulet, S. H. Nov. 18. [Addition to 25,699/05.] Supports.-In stands or supports for bicycles as described in the parent Specification, (1) the supporting - rods K are passed through the projecting ends of two half - clips A upon the frame tube Z, the rods being fixed and the clip simultaneously tightened by screwing-up nuts B disposed above and below the clip ends. (2) To enable the stand to turn up when not in use, the rods K are divided and provided with disks C connected by pins D, the arrangement being such, that, when the legs L are raised, the stand turns up about the pins D, and, when the legs are released, the stand turns down under the action of a spring F. Stops upon the disks limit the motion of the stand, or a wire stay or the like may be connected to the chain stays and to the slotted plate through which the legs extend. (3) To prevent theft, the latch M, Fig. IX, of the parent Specification is made detachable, as by screwing on and off, so that when the latch has been removed it is difficult to raise the legs.
