Cutting-appliances.- The blade c of a knife for tapping indiarubber trees and for like purposes, of the type in which the blade has four cutting-edges so that the operator may cut in any direction, is securely held on the holder b by end notches h, which engage with projections g on the side guards d, and by a bolt k and spring washer l. The bolt k passes through an aperture e in the central guard d. The shank of the holder may be provided with an hexagonal or other opening for engaging the nut upon the bolt k of another knife. The guards d may be connected by cross-bars bearing pins.
