Abstract

Post files; covers. - In loose-leaf binders in which mating filing-prongs are carried by a pair of plates which have their inner edges in contact and are forced together by a bowed spring plate having flanged edges which hook on the prong-carrying plates, the latter being deflected downwards when the prongs are closed and upwards when open, the prong - carrying plates 17, 18 are pivoted to a rigid base 13, the pivots for one of the plates allowing lateral play, and the plates are recessed at intervals to receive grooved retaining - buttons 22. The base 13 is secured between the back 12 and a lining 14 thereon, and is provided with a series of lugs 15, 16 in pairs, which co-operate with downturned lugs 19 on the plates 17, 18 by pins 20, 21 passing through apertures in the lugs, the apertures in one set of lugs being elongated. The spring plate 25 is suitably recessed to accommodate the prongs.
