Abstract

24,308. Down, H. L., and Telephos, Ltd. Oct. 16, 1908. Drawings to Specification. Actuating valves. -Relates to electricallyoperated apparatus for lighting and extinguishing gas from a distance described in Specification 21,887/08, [Class 75, Lamps &c.], in which an electro-magnet controls rotary-disk and lift valves admitting gas to main and auxiliary burners respectively, and a platinum-wire igniter is heated by the electric current. The claims comprise the means for opening the auxiliaryburner valve described in the above-mentioned Specification, according to which this valve is operated by a bell-crank lever and a pusher-bar connected to the armature of the electro-magnet which operates the main valve, and also a modified construction, not described in the previous Specification, in which the lift valve is formed with an eye which engages the inclined end of the pusher-bar. Specifications 29,345/04 29,346/04, [both in Class 75, Lamps &c.], and 24,307/09, are referred to.
