Abstract

19,341. Allden, C. Dec. 29. Cold-storage rooms ; freezing-buildings.-Air is cooled and dried in a chamber separate from the main cooling-chamber a, and is circulated by a fan v. After leaving the chamber a by the perforated roof k, the air passes over dishes q filled with drying-material, and through a chamber s in which stand vats t containing ice &c. The air is delivered through an outlet w, subdivided by partitions x, into a space y from which it passes into the chamber a through perforations in the floor b. The fan v may be driven by a hot-air or other motor z. The chamber a may be used for the manufacture of ice by placing vessels of water therein.
