Current motors.-In a windmill, several windwheels on axes at right-angles to one another are arranged within a casing so that each wheel is partly screened from the wind current. The casing 4 is rotatably mounted on a ball-race 6, and has vanes 35 for keeping the flared inlet 32 in the wind. The wheels 14, 15, 24, 25, 29 are disposed as shown, their shafts being geared together, and the resultant motion being transmitted by worm gearing 11 and a crank 10 to a connecting-rod 16, from which power is taken. Each wheel, as shown in Fig. 3, is partly screened by the inlet casing 32.
