Abstract
18,471. Tucker, J. H. Aug. 11. Switches, quick-action.-A snap-action tumbler switch comprises a tumbler lever 1, an operating- lever 9 connected to the tumbler lever, a spring 13 connecting the lever 9 with the contact-arm 3, and a lever 18 actuated by the lever 9 and adapted to give a positive movement to the contact-arm. The levers 9, 18 are respectively pivoted at 6, 19, and a pin 24 on the lever 18 engages a slot 25 in the lever 9. When the lever 9 is thrown over, camsurfaces on the lever 18 engage pins 20 or 21 on the contact-arm, thereby positively operating this should it stick in the contacts. In a modification, a pin on the lever 18 engages extensions of the contact-arm. In a further modification, Fig. 7, the spring 13 is in compression, and the positive lever 31 is connected by a pin-and-slot connexion to the contact-arm 3, and is provided with a pin 37 adapted to be engaged by tappets 34, 35 on the operating-lever 9.
