Abstract

Moulding concrete pipes; tamping-machines.- An apparatus for moulding concrete pipes comprises inner and outer forming members C, Band an intermediate member D movable relatively thereto. The members B, C are supported by a bolt 16 pivoted to a yoke 15 formed on a lever E, the forward end of which is formed with a hook 20 adapted to embrace a yoke 21. In operation, the members B, C are raised by means of the lever E, a ring 30 is inserted into the mould, and concrete is fed in through a hopper 32 and tamped by means of a tool F, Fig. 5. When the mould is filled, the hopper 32 is removed and the top of the pipe finished off by means of a tool G, Fig. 6. The members B, Care then lowered by operating the lever E, and the finished pipe is removed by means of tongs embracing the ring 30. To ensure that the inner member C moves first, the bolt 16 is passed through slots 19 in the member B, and, to facilitate the lowering of the members B, C, the yoke 15 is provided with pins adapted to engage with ratchet teeth 27 on a bar 25 pivoted to the base 26.
