Sights.-Relates to back-sights of the kind in which the notched sighting-plate is provided. with a vertically-slidable aperture plate which can be raised to bring either the aperture, or the straight top edge, into alinement with the notch, and consists (1) in providing a U-notch h instead of a V-notch, and (2) in providing the sighting-plate G with a second notch k, Fig. 2, with which the aperture can also be brought into alinement. The vertical slide I, having the aperture i<1> and straight top edge, has its movement limited by stops i, m. The sighting- bar is elevated by a rack and pinion b, C, Fig. 5, and is provided with a clicking-spring N, which engages notches n at the back of the leaf.
