Abstract

16,314. Olsen, R. July 13. Anchors.-The anchor is of the mushroom type and comprises a body portion A having an open mouth and converging sides. The bottom is closed except for a hole 5 through which mud &c. are discharged. The shank 2 is pivoted on a transverse pin 3 in such a fashion as to have freedom to move in all directions. The shank is provided with radial lugs 4, which engage with the sides of the body and lever the anchor out when the chain is wound in. The upper end of the shank carries a shackle 6.
