Turning; tools; tool-holders.-A multiple-cutter tool for lathes, of the kind in which the cutters are independently adjustable and mounted to form the profile of the articles produced, is made up of two parts, one of which b is attached to the slide rest of the lathe while the other a is superimposed upon it and secured in place by the bolts d, the slots e in the top bolt a allowing relative adjustment of the two parts. Each of the parts contains a series of cutters f, g, the cutters of each series being separated by distance-pieces. The cutters of one series are arranged to aline with the gaps in the other, the cutters being a little wider than the gaps. Screws r, s secure the cutters in the holder, and the cutters are adjusted in profile by screws i, j, which pass through the back plates p, q, and press on the ends of the cutters.
