Separators for gaseous substances. - In apparatus consisting of a cylindrical casing attached to the eye of a fan, the air enters at the end of the casing, not tangentially. To the eye a of a fan is attached a cylinder c s u rrounded by an outer casing e. The end of the casing e is closed, except for an annular opening g, by a disk f, provided with a flange h. In the space between the flange h and the casing e are helical blades i, or the disk f may be attached to the spindle of the fan and carry straight blades, or the separation may be effected by the baffling action only, to increase which the cylinder c is provided with a flange d. In order to allow the dust to pass undisturbed to the pocket j, the lower part of the space surrounding the disk f is closed by a piece n.
