Separators for gaseous substances.-In a dustcollector or cyclone separator employed in processes for the treatment of grain &c. for separating coombs, dust, &c. from an air current, a cylinder 41 provided with guide vanes 42 is located below the air outlet 12 and so that the openings between the vanes commence at the height of the tangential air inlet, which, in the example shown, is at the top. The vanes are arranged so that the circular motion of the air current in the outer chamber tends to suck back the air passing inwards through the vanes, whereby the velocity in the interior of the cylinder is greatly diminished and fine particles of dust are separated therein by gravity, in addition to the heavier particles separated in the outer chamber.
