Abstract

11,117. Izon, A. T. May 11. [Cognate Applications, 12,962/09, 13,051/09, and 17,057/09.] Skates. - Roller skates are provided with a brake which is put into operation by raising the soleplate or heel. A two - armed lever 3, 4 is pivoted at 5 to the axle carrier 8, Fig. 6, and, on the sole being raised, the end 17 of the arm 4 contacts with the floor and presses the pad 16 on the roller. A spring 18 renders the brake inoperative when the end 17 is lifted. The arm 4 is made adjustable relatively to the arm 3. The brake may be applied to the rollers of a two-roller or four-roller skate, and to the front or back rollers.
