Abstract

The skateboard has a brake (6) attached to at least one of its sets of rollers (3). A brake shoe (6) is applied to each roller (5) by a spring (8) which biasses it in the braking posn. It is held away from the roller by a lever (11) on the top surface of the board, held down by the user's foot. The brake shoes are fixed to each end of a stirrup (7) the central part of which (7a) is pressed down by a pin (10). This slides in a hole (1a) in the board and is held down by the lever.
